Hey, i have a 97 AWD X with 31's no lift...i want to do a 2inch body lift, and 2 inch TT with 33inch BFG AT's...here are my questions...

1. Is there anything else besides shackles to lift the rear of the truck?

2. I saw a chip somewhere that said it can readjust everything for bigger tires...will this eliminate having to get new gears, or can i run what i have?

3. with a 2inch body lift, will the steering column, gas tank, etc...have to be adjusted?

4. My truck rides very rough now, how much worse will it be, and if i get a new set of shocks, will it ride smoother?

1) for around 2", addaleaf or custom leaves
2) you regear not to get the speedo right (that can be done easily at the tcase), but to make up for altered power delivery
3) no, with a 3" BL
4) rough ride could be due to many things. lift or shocks could make it better or worse.

TT will make the ride harsher as it limits the suspension....
for the rear you can also use an add-a-leaf however, this also adds to a harsher ride
the gas tank and steering column may need to have extensions added, but they shouldnt be too hard and instructions should be included about them.... not sure if the power programmer, like superlift's tru-speed is available for the newer X's however it might be... this will compensate for the speedometer/odometer readings being off due to larger tires, however, it will not compensate for lack of gearing, just the way the engine, tranny thinks its is doing.... new shocks will almost definately improve the ride.... as long as they arent hte $10 kragen specials - not that these arent good, i just put some on my toyota, and they feel a lot better than the worn out ones it had

it was a chip that said it changed transmission shift points...

That has nothing to do with driveline gear ratios.
