Hey all, this isn't for an Explorer, but I'm thinking someone here could help me.

I put a 5.0 HO from a '92 Thunderbird in my '97 Ranger.

For exhaust, I can use some old style Shelby tri-y headers, but I've read that I may have problem with them hitting the bellhousing of my AOD.

Another option is the factory cast iron exhaust manifolds from a 5.0 Explorer.

Will these manifolds work with my old standard non-gt40P heads? Will the spark plug angle work ok?

What performance difference, if any, would I notice by using the tri-y headers instead of manifolds on a stock 5.0 HO?

I'm not sure on the manifolds as I haven't tried what you need. But I believe Torque Monsters will work for you. Have you called Bob to find out?

I think the Torque Monsters will work for the truck, but not my wallet. They are great headers, but I'm looking for something around $150.
