'97 sohc 4x4 with startup rattle and 200K on the odometer. Went to replace the rusty lower pan today and found pieces of plastic in the pan....they were small and not that many compared to pictures of others I've seen on the forum....is there a way to determine which guide(s) they're from?
Should I start by removing the front cover and hope they belonged to the jackshaft guide? From what I understand, I can replace that without pulling the motor which I really don't want to do unless I have to. Can the same be said about the front chain guide?
I guess what I'm asking is what all can be replaced without pulling the engine?
