I really miss the homelink feature, but at $200+ to get a entire visor assembly from Ford with it already there, there's a thread around here where a guy "hacked" his visor to add it.
I've got a couple questions, so hopefully someone who's added it can chime in.
1) I can feel "some" (4) round indentations where I would assume the approximate location of the homelink outer portion needs to be. Is that where I need to remove some of the factory fabric?
2) Once I open it up, am I going to see where the remainder of the module sits in the visor?
3) How are folks wiring the eBay homelink modules into the visor? Is it possible to use the visor light wires (splice/solder), or is there an alternative preferred method.
a) The eBay homelink modules have a handful of unterminated wires it looks like. Which of these two are needed for the homelink module?
Thanks!
NINJA EDIT: Here's the post referencing the invisor hack I'm hoping to do. Unfortunately, I'm not quite connecting the dots.
