You need a altenator from a limited ex they put out 130 stock:D

I'm pretty happy with the 200 amp from Mr. Alternator, but the stock belt won't work with it. It has a much smaller pulley so you have to buy a belt that is 2" shorter than stock.

I am pretty sure the '93 and later explorers use a 130 amp alt. I changed my '91 explorers alternator to a later 130amp alt.

not all explorers had 130 ampers, in fact very few did. I "upgraded" mine to 130, many come with 85 ampers.

Hey Matt

are the limited's the only 1st gen. ex to come with a 130amp altenator?

as far as I know! Unless it was purchased special or something...
