I am looking for quick disconects for my front sway bar only, for my 98 sport. I have the rear disconected, and really dont want to make my own quick disconects for the front, unless I have absolutely no other option. Anyone know of a manufacturer for this product? I have seen universal quick disconect kits, depending on the size of the sway bar, but am skeptical. Any info would be cool, Thanks and peace.

Warrior Products make some for the front!

I believe Ray Lobato has tried them......

Hi Txplorer,
Chris is correct, Warrior Products does have quick disconnects for the Explorer, and I do have a set on my rig, but they are the generic ones with a 10" tube with the I bolts on both ends, because I am lifted and the Explorer disconnects are too short. They work well as long as your sway bar will move so you can take them off and on. They work for me.

JKS manufacturing

JKS manufacturing makes them, i dont think they have them for explorers but i bought ones for a jeep cj and they are pretty long, i have a 5.5 superlift and i didnt even have to use my drop down brackets for the front sway bar, they are pretty nice and work pretty well, the only thing you will have to do is grind down the bushing just a little bit..just thought i'de help

txplorer, Ray, what do you guys do (or plan to do)with the sway bar when disconnected? Do you just leave it in it's place?

Jason-

I only disconect one side. I leave the other side connected on the front sway bar. So yes it stays in place.

taxxman, thanks for the the reply. But if one side is flexed and the other is not, won't the anti-sway bar bind with the steering or the cv joints?

I have done like taxxman and just undo one side if you take on side off at home and lube everything it only takes a few sec. to remove one side at the air down site.

I take both sides off, and just push it up,it usually stays where it's at.

WHITE93STALLION,
I tired the JKS disconnects, but found them to be a pain in the a$$ putting them back on. I just didn't care for them, and they weren't cheap either. Now they just collect dust in my garage.

Ray, I have been trying to build some for my 93 Navajo. Would the ones collecting dust in you garage fit it? If So do you want to sell em to me?

I havent had any problems, but that is an interesting observation. Guess I will test that out with full compression on the disconnected side. But there are many people here that only disconnect one side and I haven't heard of anything yet.

I've got a set of the basic JKS disco's made for a CJ with 4 inches of lift. They are about 10 inches form hole to hole. My Explorer is a 92 with a 4 inch lift, and they work fine. I'd guess the no lift version would work on an X with no lift. The best part is that I picked them up used for ten bucks.

his this white93stallion, my jks disconnects pretty good, they arent bad , the only problem i have is the sway bar links rub against the coil springs, they make a lot of noise when they hit, and i dont know how to fix it if anyone has had this before could you please tell me how to fix it, my buddy has the same setup but he has the extended radius arms and i dont so maybe thats why!!!!!

Do they have a little bend in them?

Sorta like that? Take the top or bottom halves off and rotate them 180.

You might pick up the bit of space you need.

Kirby I don't know, but seeing as you have a pre95 model, can't you just use pull pins on the bottom of your rods instead of having bolts and screws. I seem to remember that the older models have the eyes and not the bolts at the ends of the sway bar connecting rods.
I can take a picture of my JKS disconnects and send you an email.

This is the JKS disconnect set up for my 97.
