do any of you guys do explorer engine work or modification?

I want to get a few things put in or swapped out and the mechanic I had been using isn't even capable of installing an intake spacer without giving me vacuum leaks that take 2 weeks to fix.

I'd prefer to have a member of the forum that is familliar with our engines do the work and I'd be more than willing to drive to you to have the work done

Mike

some of the items I'm looking to have installed are:

Ford Racing aluminum heads
E303 camshaft
1.6 roller rockers
Ford Racing chrome upper & lower intake manifolds
Ford Racing timing chain and gear set
Ford Racing valve covers
Ford Racing 75mm throttle body
TM headers
swap out as many hoses and lines in the engine bay with stainless braided replacements

I actually work in a repair shop but how fast did you want the work done? Are you in a rush or is it a take it as it goes type of job? Do you have the parts you want put in or do you need them ordered? I have a Ford supplier contact as well...

all the parts don't have to go in at the same time. But any work done would need to be performed over a weekend as it is my daily driver and I need it to get to work.

I have sources for the parts and most of the parts are getting chrome powdercoated before being installed so this is not an immediate need but certainly something I want to get moving forward on very soon.

I fully understand that certain parts need to be installed in groups and may take a little more time to install. I will need to make arrangements for alternate transportation during that time when that situation arises.

Thanks

evenings also work for me. I get off work at 3:30 and can go wherever I have to after that for however long it requires

Sorry.. I just don't have the time at the moment.. Too many irons in too many fires right now.

ok my next question is I what are you looking to have done right now? What can you afford to do so you aren't down a car?

I'm in the "assembling parts" stage right now. I want to have most of the listed items on hand before getting started. That way if something can be installed during an already scheduled install it will save time later.

For instance if i have the heads, intake manifolds, cam shaft, roller rockers and the timing chain on hand most of that stuff gets removed just to get the heads out anyway so why do it two or three times when it can all be done once... if I'm not mistaken. I just want to have someone willing to do the work for me when I have things in order and ready to go based on their schedule. I mean even if push comes to shove I'd get a rental for a week and leave the truck for install work if that is easiest way to approach this compared to stopping and starting... Suggestions?

Well as soon as you are ready w/what you want done 1st let me know. Then we can come up w/a time for you to get it in.

Ok thanks I'll do just that!

Mike
