Hey i'm running the KMM intake for my 00 X Sport. For the price/performance you can't beat it! I'm in NY, and i heard you guys saying it wasn't emissions legal. Does anyone in NY state have the kmm intake and has succesfully passed an inspection test? I mean i know it's not a big thing to take it out and put in the stock box for the inspection but still. Let me know, thanks.

It's only illegal if you change the emissions control devices which the KKM does not.

actually the kkm is not legal..at least on the 91-94... the reason is that it plugs up the 2 vacuum lines that are connected to the bimetal senosr in the airbox..i am not sure if it does this on the later models though....

He has a '00, but like I said it is legal if it does not change the emissions. Not legal on yours because of the lines being removed. If you install feeders onto your stock tube for the hoses it will be legal.

How would you set this up?

One line is a breather tube that runs to the valve cover on the pass side. The other line I think is for the O2 sensor, but I am not sure. You can goto any plumbing shop and buy some barbed nipples. You'll have to figure out how to secure them. I have not done this myself and the on I saw was done on a metal intake tube.

Take the tube to the plumbing shop with you and describe what you need to do. You'll need the inside diameter of the two hoses as well so you get the right barbed nipples.

So they just go into the intake tube itself? Would there need to be any kind of metal sensor like the stock airbox has? Or would the shop know what I need to do? (Sorry, never done this kind of thing before) Just trying to cover everything

Only sensor you need to worry about is the MAS and that does not get removed. All you need to worry about are the tubes.

Ok, I'll try it all out at some point

Thanks:D

Oh wait, just remembered. The second hose was plugged into the heat riser assembly. I guess I need to put that back in?

Put it this way, anything that was removed for the KKM needs to be reconnected.

I'll probably be doing that
