I had the heater core replaced on my 98 explorer about a month or so ago. I don't think the mechanic put the dash back on right. My heater gets warm, but not hot....also even when the heat is completely off and the temp. is turned to cold....warm air is getting in (I didn't have this problem prior to the "fix"). Is there an easy check to see if everything was hooked up right? I refuse to deal with that mechanic again.....and I dread having to pay for the hours the book says it takes to remove the dash (6+) if it's something that I can possibly check and fix. Since I have no idea what it looks like behind the dash...is there some tube or valve or something that maybe didn't get sealed? I've also noticed that it now makes a very soft/faint noise when the setting button is in the "off" position, but goes away when you turn it on... it almost sounds like a vacuum tube or something (it's a soft kinda airy sound). Any suggestions?????????

Another querry....Do the 98 explorers have an emergency brake light indicator on the dash? I can't tell you how many times I've tried to drive around with the darn emergency brake on....! I had the mechanic check the lights in the dash when he had it off......but I'm having some serious issues with how reliable that was. He claimed there isn't an indicator light....
