I am replacing my lousy stock bulbs today for some Sylvania Silverstars. What # does the Explorer take? I know the Taurus needs 9007, but what about the Explorer? I also hear that there are high and low beam bulbs. Which one is better to change (I assume low), and how difficult is the change?

There is only one bulb in each headlight lens. Its a 9007 also. Easy to change.

My explorer took 9007's and I only had 1 bulb for high and low beam. Mines a 96, but I don't know about your year.

I belive the 9007's are used in all years. My '94 does, but I replaced them with cool blue's which I find reduce shadowing, illuminate a wider and longer field of vision, and are unbeatable in comparison to regular yellow light in rain snow and fog. They are $8 more each side, but well worth it in my opinion. They are NOT indiglo blue as some may imagine, they simply create clearer light from the blue spectrum.

I bought a set of those bulbs at Wal-mart about a month ago. They were clearing them out and they were 50% off.You might want to check that out and maybe save some bucks.Just for your information I really don't see and big deal with these bulbs. They are white instead of yellow but I really don't see any other advantage.

I plan on getting an upgraded headlight harness as well to make my Sylvania purchase more useful. Where are some good prices for harnesses? I have heard of this place called SUV Lightin or something like that. Are they any good?

Suvlights is the only place that I know of that sells the complete harness.

Did the price for those headlight harnesses go up or what?! I hope somebody will tell me of some other place that sells them. $90. + $8. shipping
