now i know that explorers arent built for plowing, but i know they make plows that fit explorers. so i was wondering if anyone here has ever done it. i was think of getting a used plow for cheap money because i do a lot of shoveling for family and what not and was kinda looking for an easy way out. if anyone has i was wondering what kind of ploiw you got and if there where any major problems you had after using it? just a thought not sure if i will go through with it.

thanks that helps. i just wanted to know if anyone had experience with plowing. i dont know if i want to put that kind of pressure on my ex especially since i use it everyday and kinda depend on it. so i cant deal with having it break and need to get fixed.

Got it... But if you do go with it, can you post a pic so we can see what the hook up looks like? (subwoofers boomin' and plowing snow... now that has to be fun! and a good way to make money) Good luck!

i was reading up on it a bit more and found out that the say to only plow small driveways and not to over do it. but i would think this goes for any truck so whatever. the other thing is the plow i found that i was gonna get requires me to make holes in the bumper so i can properly mount it. now i looked around and found that no matter im gonna have make some holes to mount it right. that kinda sucks cause i didnt really want holes in my bumper. the only other pain the butt part is that i have a grilleguard in front that would have to come off. and let me just say it wasnt fun to put on so i cant imagine taking it off every winter then putting it back on is gonna be fun. so i dont know im kinda torn on what to do. plus there is the money thing me being a broke college kid. i think ill make my decision sometime around christmas. and ill let you guys know what i decide. that is unless someone can sway me to get one lol.

i did see that thread before i posted when i searched the site. i guess i was just kinda hoping that the year and gen difference might make mine able to plow a bit better? its like i said i would only use it at my house and maybe a few family members nothing big. and the plow im looking at is only a small 6'6" one. its the same one i think the wranglers use and it only weighs about 250. thats why i was wondering if people have done it.

Understood... I would listen to the guys on that thread because if you need your Ex to go to school, but want to earn money, why chance it? Will you be able to get to class without the Ex? For me, I have an 03 xlt, and if I had to plow snow with the same vehicle I used for daily transportation, it wouldn't be with my xlt. They might be capable, but also vulnerable. Pray for Global Warming, and I hope you graduate with honors! Stay in college.
