Tires
Thats not a quick question, lets see if I remember from Firestone.
The first letter is the tire type. (no standard, P could be passenger or Polly, S at one time meant sport, so RS meant Sport Radial, Goodyear called it SR Rally Sport, (no one knows what a rally sport tire is)). Firestone countered with the SR Radial, ya they did, inverse the letters and you got something new.
This is how the numbers work,
The 275 or 255 is the width of the tire in millimeters (mm), measured from sidewall to sidewall. Since this measure is affected by the width of the rim, the measurement is for the tire when it is on its intended rim size. Got it so far? Follow along.
The number in the center is what they call the Aspect Ratio. (ya hang on it get stranger)
The aspect ratio relates to the rim size and the width.
This number tells you the height of the tire, from the bead to the top of the tread. This is described as a percentage of the tire width. The smaller the aspect ratio, the wider the tire in relation to its height.
I'm starting to give myself a headache, basically what we look for in a SUV is what you would consider a high aspect ratio. Obviously in a sport car it would be the opposite.
So to answer your question, I have no idea if those tires will fit, call my ex wife Rose, she knows everything.
sorry,
Bob
