So I feel like I am going crazy and I have been searching on here but cant find the answer.

I swear that when I bough my 2015 Explorer Limited, under the settings for remote start there was an option for a "quite start" that lead me to believe it did not honk and the RPM's were much lower.

Moving forward, I read somewhere that the heated seats should go on with the remote start, but mine do not. I was reading that if the RPM's are under a certain amount then they would not go on so I think it has something to do with the "quite mode."

So I have looked everywhere and in every setting and book and can not find this option I swear I had last year.

Can anyone help me feel less crazy here?

Saw these threads, thanks...but they dont help. I can't find the option cycling through the setting on the dash. Literally looked through everything 100x.

According to other posts, quiet start(mode) is not mentioned in the 2014-2015's owners manual. my heated seat come on, it has to be a below certain temp outside. Also, auto might need to be on as well, I'm not sure because ours is always on auto.

Im in NJ, so it gets cold. I leave it on auto and the seats have never come on by themselves. I suspect because of the low RPMS from the "quiet mode". The option to take it off disappeared! Its really bothering me, I know it was there at one point.

My heated seats and steering wheel turn on below a certain temperature when I remote start...

I haven't changed any settings.

Heated seat (not sure if the passenger side turns on) and heated steering comes on when I autostart my Explorer; while temps have been in the negative this winter.

In the Remote Start setting it should be on 'Auto', not 'Use Last Settings'. Is that what you have? As Lewisra mentioned I did a Search for the phrase "Quiet Start" in the 2014 & 2015 Manuals and did not find any mention of it.

There is definitely an option for quiet start on there. What it does seems to be unknown. Edit: Nvm found it!

I saw that in the Manuals of some but not all other year Explorers. Like I posted you won't find it mentioned in the 2014 or 2015 Manuals. I have them all downloaded on my computer. The 2013 has it shown on page 67 of the 4th printing;

1. Press the lock button to lock all the doors.
2. Press the remote start button twice. The exterior lamps will flash twice.
The horn will sound if the system fails to start, unless quiet start is on.
Quiet start will run the blower fan at a slower speed to reduce noise. You
can switch it on or off in the information display. See the Information
Displays chapter.

As to what it does is explained in the above. It kills the horn and causes the blower fan to run at a reduced speed.

I have a 2015 Limited and have the Remote set to Auto, which warms the seats and steering wheel. I didn't know/see anything about Quiet Mode, but my horn doesn't sound off.

See, its there! I know I turned it on... but now there is no option to turn it off... it has disappeared from the options list on the dash.

I think you can reset it by pulling the negative battery terminal off for about 5 minutes.

I don't think that you have that option. At least not according to your Owner's Manual. It isn't mentioned in it or in the 2014. It could be an omission but please keep us informed. Thanks.

I think there is a master reset option for the mylink.... I just dont know if the "mylink" system is the same that operates the options such as remote start, wipers, lighting, ect
