I have a 91 Ranger with a 28 spline Dana 35 IFS and a No-Slip locker. The locker was installed by a diff shop that does "good work". The problem is that the right axle pulled out of the carrier because the end of the slip yoke "popped out" and the axle lost tension. The diff shop said that they had never seen or heard of this happening and would take care of it for me. They said they welded the piece back onto the yoke and installed a new spring inside the yoke to keep tension on the inner stub axle. Now I have about an half inch of freeplay side to side on the axle. I was told today to just install a valve spring from a chevy small block and that will solve my problem. That sounds a little Mickey Mouse to me. Help!! What Do I Do?? The truck has been back to the diff shop 3 times so I am going to make the repair myself.

Yea I'm still here.

the front of my explorer has about 1 inch of play on the passanger side axle and I have a lock-rite. ithasnt given me any problems. Also I dont have a spring in between the axle and the half shaft because there was not enough room with a spring the hub wouldn't fit up against the rotor. In the lock-rite directions that is what it says to do install a valve spring. Robbie
