okay i have checked the prior threads and i cant find a straight answer...
i replaced the front wheel bearings/seals and the master cylinder. my dad and i bench bled the MC and no bubbles present. however i did push the screw driver ALL the way in a couple of times (did i damage it by bottoming it out?). anyways, after everything was installed we bled all 4 wheels going rt/rr, lt/rr, rt/ft and lt/ft using castrol semi-synthetic dot 3/4 fluid. the old fluid looked somewhat bad and we were able to clean out a layer of residue from the reservoir (water hose and dried w/ compressed air). i'd say the system has at least 50% new fluid and 50% old fluid (regular dot 3) now. brake pedal was firm when veh was off. i then drove 3 blocks home and the RABS light stayed on the entire time. brake felt okay though.
i saw one thread state the RABS valve needed to be bled and then another thread stated there is no bleeder on the RABS valve. lastly, someone else posted that new fluid around the RABS valve could cause a misreading due to a buildup of fluid and to give it a few days to circulate.
anyone have any ideas? my wife is the primary driver and my 2 year old is the primary passenger. i want to make sure they're safe, kwim?
