Has annybody had problems with the rack in a lifted 95+ X? Does anyone know what the pressure rating is on the power stearin pump?

I have gone though two racks now and can not seam to find the problem.

I would not think that 35's would make me do this.

Any thoughts?

Gage,
The only problem I have with my steering is that stupid steering slide. It won't go back to center after turning. It is getting better with use, but I still don't like it.
Seriously thinking about going to a live axle and getting rid of all this IFS stuff.

Yes I know!

I WILL be looking into getting some parts together this winter. I am done with the IFS and its lifts.

I changed my rack last spring (4-months ago) and I blew out both seals just going down the highway and I am leaking again on both sides though the boot. Here is the kicker if you take the boots off to replace the rack the war. is void for the rack. But you have to take off both tie rods to get the rack in though the frame and lets not forget the extension for the TM lift. So after nine hours (install), 4 months (time with no probs) and $300.00 (Money spent for parts) I have to do it all over again.

So I will be printing off the "WHAT DO NEED TO HAVE THE GOD TRUCK OF YOUR DREAMS" sheet from Ricks and see what I need this winter. No I don't need 9" of lift but a 44 would be nice.

Just think I can get rid of those stupid TB!!!!

issues

I started out with my front end shimmering.. and was told to replace the Rack and Pinon. Now that the new R&P is installed the shimmering is worse not better. Any ideas? Does anyone have an instruction from removal to install that I can get from them . This is on a 1995 Ford Explorer Sport. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My 01 sport needs a new steering gear. Seals are gone and bellows are like balloons. Anyone know were the identification mark is so I can get a new one?
