07 sport trac
I have an 07 explorer sport trac and it came with the single cd changer. I bought a new 6-disc radio from replacementradios.com and when I installed it...there are a couple of problems...1. when you turn the key off, the radio is supposed to stay on for 10 mins or so unless you open a door. As soon as you turn off the key, the 6-disc radio goes off (the original worked properly)...2. When you turn on the headlights, the radio lights do not come on...so you cant see what button to push....the original radio lights did come on. The unit plays cds and the radio fine. This is a factory Ford radio and is not an aftermarket part...Part number is 6e5t-18c815-ah

So, some are telling me it needs an unlock code, some are saying it needs to be taken to the dealer and programmed. Some ford dealers are saying they have no idea....

Hopefully, someone on here will know what to do!

The radio was new, so while it is possible it is broken from the factory, I doubt it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You need to buy a truck that fits to that stereo.... hehehe
Try dimming the interior lights down then up again, mine turns on when I do that, haven't figured out the problem yet...

welcome to the forum!

uh

well, you rotten rascal....the place I bought it from www.replacementradios.com said it would fit!...well it did fit and it looks exactly the same....but it does have a different model number than the one prescribed....so I guess that matters....he said to take it to Ford and they could program it...but me not so sure....

Whycome you don't take ur magic wand and fix it fer me?

But, even though your suggestion didn't work..at least you gave me one....

Now everyone else pipe up!

You need to have the radio programmed to work with your vehicle if it came from a different model than yours. I have found that most dealers don't do their own A/V work but have a local service rep do it for them. If you look on e-bay there are a couple of guys that will be able to help you out.
