I have an 02'EB V8. I have the radio with the 6 disc changer in the dash. 2 weeks ago the radio began cutting out, looking like it's losing power and then comes on and goes off again. Before I go ahead and replace it, Can I hard wire it to the fuse box to see if that changes it? I dont want to replace the unit only to find out it was in the harness.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Of course you can.

Ok. Been awhile since I played in any wiring. I know there are 2 power wires that go to it. Any idea which one I can reroute to a different fuse?

One power should be hot all the time to keep the settings. The other should only be hot when the key is on, that is the one you need to reroute.

I would suspect the radio before the wiring, unless someone has played with the harness. These radios don't last for
very long.

I have the same radio with the same problem. I've narrowed the problem down to the volume button. If I jiggle it enough times the sound comes back.
