Radio question, new to me (us) purchase.

Hello everyone, I just signed up but have been lurking. Great wealth of knowledge to be tapped into here thank you. My dad's '02 engine finally gave up the ghost at 260k.

He loved the model so much that he purchased an '05 Eddie Bauer edition. My question pertains to an aftermarket head unit that is presently installed, he would prefer the factory radio. I have seen quite a few used factory units for sale but am unsure of precisely which one is compatable and if there is some sort of code/programming required with installing it? Can anyone assist? Thank you in advance.

The EB should have the sub in the back. You'll need 04-05 HU from an EB with the sub & it should be the CD/radio option. I don't think it needs to be programmed, but I'm not sure on that one. I'm confused to why he wants that. The HU in there is years ahead of what came stock. Also note, someone may have jacked the wires & not used the proper harness. You may have to re-wire things.
