Anyone just removed the unit with something you just found in your garage or something?

There are I think two screws located right above the heater controls. They are screwed in vertically. Remove those two and the whole bezel + radio should pop out.

that should work, then once the bezel is out you should be able to pull the radio out if you mess with the brackets holding it in. They are the shiny thing on the sides of the radio.

I used ground wire, similar to the hanger idea. But if you are having trouble, I noticed the actual tool is at Walmart for a few bucks.

Maybe this will help...

ok so I tried using separate pins in each one (funny that I dont have a wire hanger anywhere in my house) and I guess it unhooked each side but it still wouldnt come out. And unscrewed the bottom two screws. SO, I looked through the glove compartment and I could see the unit so I just started pushing it from there but then the whole black thing including the fog light button, rear windsheild button and stuff popped out. Its ok thought I can easily see the back on the unti now. But I noticed that there's nothing else that could be plugged in to the back of the unit. I'm planning on installing a system. Can anyone help me out with this?

Ok super simple, I never use the removal tool. Take both screws out right over the climate control knobs, them pull the whole black molding part off, there are a few clips that will just pop off when you pull.

now from the back side you can see the radio is held in with little wedge spring pieces. I just use my pocket knife to push the spring clip in while I push the radio through from the back.

To install you can put the bezel bacmk on and just push the radio back in and it will pop into place by itself.

Hope this makes sense:(
