I own an 04 XLT Explorer and just stumbled across this forum.

While installing an FM Modulator for an XM radio in my Explorer I managed to break one of the metal retaining clips that holds the radio trim to the dash. The plastic post is intact, the metal clip that slips onto the post is what was broken. Does anyone know what that part is called (spring clip, retaining clip???) and where I might be able to purchase one?

Also, what size are the screws that hold the radio into the dash? Are they #8? I managed to drop one behind the dash and cant find it anywhere.

Thanks again for your help.

Call your local Fastenal you can look it up here www.fastenal.com and ask if they stock Au-ve-co parts them you can bring then in and match them up.
I do want to warn you that they sell only box qty, so you may need to get a box of 25 pieces, but it still may be cheaper then wasting your time searching all over. Time is money also.
Some stores have a counter book that you can actually match the part up right there.
Good luck.
