Raidator Flush/Fill ??

Hey All,

I know this is pretty simple just wanna get it right. As normal I need to flush my cooling system before summer.

Normally I would just drain the Raidator and refill it, but last week I bought the Kit that you have to cut a heater hose and install, which is much better due to it can do the heater core and in some cases the motor.

My question is I know what Hose to cut, but on my 99 there is a valve that looks like a heater by pass. So if I cut the hose will it still flush correctly and how does that Valve work?

Be careful with some of those systems. I have seen those plastic "tees" brake and lead to catastrophic cooling system failure. But that is another story.

You will need to make sure the valve is open so that coolant will be flushed from the heater core. I believe the valve is vacuum operated. I'm not sure if vac applied means the valve is open or closed.

Thanks For the Info.

For Future info on my 99 the Vacume closes the Valve so all I have to do was remove the line and presto nasty Hunter Green Water.
