So this problem has been going on for a few years, and I've pretty much just been dealing with it until now. I have an '03 with the 4.6. 126,000 miles.

At random times, she'll die at stoplights or stop signs. It seems most noticeable when there's a big weather change, but that's pretty tough to pinpoint as the cause. What I do notice is that it will idle about 100 RPM's less when it tends to die.

I replaced the IAC about a month ago, and didn't have a problem for about 3 weeks. Now, just yesterday it died again on me. Any thoughts as to the cause? I'm running Henson's 91 Street tune, so should I talk to James about maybe upping my idle (if that's even possible through a retune?)

Thanks!

does it just die or does it stutter a little bit then die? my 02 ex 4.0 did the same thing...everytime i opened the hood it would go good...once i closed the hood it would stutter and die...slowing down at lights or stop signs it would die...warmer days would be better...pinpointed the problem to my intake...not sure till this day if its my maf sensor (no cel light) or the intake itself... my k and n seems pretty loose so i had to secure it down really good and that solved the problem for me...my mechanic had me replace the evap vent canister next to the fuel tank and i thought that solved my problem but he actually mounted my intake wrong after replacing the intake manifold gaskets and had the intake mounted securely around the ac hose which held it down tight to the car without play...if i move the intake back to original position car dies...if i leave the way it is it doesnt die...runs rough but doesnt die...def got to check my maf.....sorry for the long post hope it helps...
