Ranger 2.3 with double ignition

Hi I have seen at my local scrapyard an old Ranger 2.3 with 2 ignition coils of 4 wires each so 2 spark plug per cylinders...anyone have infos on this model or link so i can see if its a good idea to buy this special engine for rebuilding it. I am doing long trail in gravel road to go see the family of my girlfriend and there is no garage 86 km's around so i tought it would be a great idea to buy this engin and to rebuild it to put in a old ranger.

well these extra spark plugs are 4 emissions they burn the fuel more completely with 2 plugs percylinder than one if you can get the computer and the harnes than have at it an good luck

Ok thank you. I dont know why it was discontinued but anyway...thats not only good for emissions i think...if one coil fail the other one will still be there.
