Hello, my 2006 ranger will not start until you crank it for a long time. What I now do after reading the forums is turn the key to the on position 2-3 times to cycle the fuel pump. This is to build the pressure up and then the truck starts well.

I am planning on installing a one way check valve to keep the pressure high, the check valve is only $14

But my question is does anyone have any idea what size the fuel line is on a 2006 Ranger? This check valve is for 5/16 hose

Thanks:

..Perhaps it's just a dirty fuel filter or a fuel pump that's getting tired and will be needing replacing..

..I'm not sure then why you would put a check valve in before you remedy the problem..:dunno:

there is already a check valve in the fuel pump module. a replacement module is the proper fix

my 91 does this, i dont see it hurting anything to crank it for a few seconds, i tried the "cycle fuel pump" thing once. it flooded, then i didnt let it "unflood" all teh way and finally got it started and it started so hard 3 vaccum hoses blew off. havent tried it since lol...
