You should have the D35 up front if you have the 8.8" rear (4.0L engine?)

I have not seen any examples of the TTB axle having a carrier break. The 4.10 gears should fit your existing carrier even if you have 3.27 gears now.

Hope that helps

it is 4.0L i called randys and they told 410's wouldn't fit and that was a d28 i went to ford to run the vin and to no avail they couldn't tell me **** either but regardless i still need 1 no thanks to rough country drop brackets and the weakest front springs i had to order 5.5" front coils is there a way to identify this diff and possibly the spline count any info would be great thanks

roof rack

saw your pics nice truck now how about that roof rack custom?

95 Ranger + 4.0 = D35, regardless of what Randy's told you.

D35

i figured out how to tell the difference 10 bolts=d35 12 bolts =d 28 so any way thanks for the help

Yep, built that from scratch (if you've ever priced ones from Con-Ferr or another manufacturer, you'll know why).

Since gas prices have shot up so high now, I took it off. It was impacting my mileage too much to justify having it up there with the amount that I ever actually used it.

As for your axle, the 12-bolt D28 was never used on your model year.
It IS possible however for a "hybrid" D28/35 axle to be under there IF you did not have a 4.0L engine. The easiest way to identify these is the smooth lower diff housing on it (a true D35 has large reinforcing ribs on the bottom).
