The bolt pattern is the same but the offset is different and the wheels will stick out farther, which may or may not be a problem depending on the tires. If you go that route you should get an alignment afterward because it will effectively be different when the wheels stick out farther.

the weak backspacing of the 2nd gen ST wheels are one of my biggest dislikes of the truck. I'd like to see what it looks like. i bet the higher offset wheels would look really good

Your profile says you have an '05 Sport trac XLS. That IS a Gen 1 when you're speaking of Sport Tracs............
