Hey, I'm a newb to this forum and need some help.

I have a 2003 Ranger and got a good deal on a set of power mirrors with puddle lights and heated mirrors. I'm going to hook these up on my Ranger.

Here's my two questions:
1) I want it to look factory so I'm trying to find a radio bezel that has a:

Cig Lighter
12V Power point
Defroster Switch
Fog Light Switch

I have a Manual Transfer case so I don't want the 4x4 selector or the rear wiper switch.

Can anyone give me any leads on the year of Explorer that would have this combination?

2) Was a rear defroster standard on all Explorers?

Thanks for your help!!!

Alex

not sure about the other stuff, but a rear defroster was not standard... it is odd, but i have seen some of the early model explorers with no rear defroster, no factory tint, and no rear wiper

Well he has a 2003, so he'll want a bezel that's second gen. Unfortunately, all 2nd gen 4x4s were electronic. So I think you'll want the bezel from a 95-2001 X (Sport or 4door) 2wd with fogs.

Yeah I was looking at an online parts catalog and found that for 1995 only you could get a 2wd Explorer w/ no wiper but with fog lights.

Now I just need to figure out if a rear defroster was standard all years, even if it didn't have a rear wiper.

BTW.. My Ranger has a 12V Powerpoint where the wiper switch would go on the Explorers. I know that Explorers came with these also, so where did Ford put them?

Thanks Again!

in my moms 96, there is an aux 12v outlet in the passenger side of the center console instead of on the dash in hte radio bezel like my dads 98 ranger.....

Oh OK, so it's coming out the right side of the console near the base? Does it have the Black plug that fits in there to keep crap from getting in?

in the ranger, the 12v source is on the dash right next tot the radio, but in the 96 x, it come out of the side of the center console with a trap door that is hinged and is rectangular and sits flush when it isnt in use to prevent gunk from getting in there,
