Ranger Radio

Howdy. New to the site. I have a 1995 Ranger and the radio just stopped putting out sound. The display is normal but no sound, not even static. Traced everythig I could, power and control are normal. Any Ideas? Also wondering if I can swap a 2003 Explorer radio into the 1995 Ranger. Both Double Din.

Welcome to this forum! Check the antenna, and the fuses.

no sound

checked about everything you can check.Replaced all fuses that apply, antenna is good and signal strength is fine. Did the 3-6 check and unit isolated each speaker but no code displayed. Think my radio is belly up. Am going to try to replace it with a unit from a 2003 Explorer.

I believe they are different styles, but it may fit. No guarantees.

I do still have my old stock radio from mine floating around the house somewhere.

and I agree, it sounds like the radio is toast. Usually if it's a wiring issue of sorts, you'd atleast get static.
