Hello every one. I'm new. I have a Explorer 1994. Two months ago it started to make a rattling noise every time i accelerate. The car make noise under 1000 RPM (in driving) and over 2000 RPM (in driving). There is no noise from 1000 to 2000 RPM. It doesn't make noise if I go over 65 mph sometimes (event it run at 2000 to 3000 RPM)
However, if the car is idle, the is no noise even when I push engine to 3000 RPM. Also, when the car is idle, I hear a small rattling noise under the car (around catalytic converter).
So this is my question. How can I know if it is timing chain or catalytic converter problem? Moreover, engine light is not on and it's about 194xxx miles.
Thank you.
