I've heard some pretty good things about these systems and was thinking about gettin one for my 99 sport. Has anyone here had any experience with these mufflers. And will I still get the same sound if i just install the z55 muffler and leave the stock piping? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks...

I personally like Magnaflow products a lot better. Besides sound, you also want to get some performance out of exhaust mods. I recommend a Magnaflow muffler and 2.25" or 2.5" tailpipe.

To get the most out of your exhaust you should also look into an airfilter replacement.

I would recommend not just replacing your muffler,' go with cat back piping of 1.5 inches.

Good luck.....

must've been a typo or a brain fart. better is 2.5"

yeah... 1.5" my tercel had that...... id say the best size piping is 2.25" or 2.5" do the whole catback for best performance.... i have heard good things about the ravins..... but have never had one.... i heard colins at thaven and it sounded nice.....

I'm not much of a car guy, I'm still learning but my friend basically did my whole exhuast for me I just kinda watched and learned, We went and got a Magnaflow 3 chamber or something like that, and a bunch of 2.5" piping, and cut off all the crap under the explorer, redid it all, and put a nice looking tip on the end, and well to be honest it sounds like a kitten.

We were anticipating a nice throaty "lion like" V8 sound, and what came out, was a newborn kitten.

Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Atleast Got a good deal on it, the whole thing, Muffler/tip/piping and stuff, only cost me a total of $145, and labor free, since we did it. :)

My Magnaflow kinda sounds like a kitten:

A kitten running down stairs at idle, boom boom boom.
A kitten purring loudly during normal driving.
A baby lion practicing it's growls during passing.
And a pride of baby lions howling at WOT.

:D

Oh, and tonight there was the kitten coughing up a hairball screech when I accidentally left those 10 foot marks at the light.

Now don't get me wrong, at first the sound that came out was a bit dissapointing, but it's kinda grown on me, I don't not like it, it gives it character without the whole town looking at me when I floor it, just a few bystanders maybe, if they are paying attention, looking right at my car, and no one else is around, and have excellent hearing. ;)

well i was just at midas today and they told me they don't have anything for dual in/single out. They only have dual 3" in and thats too big of a piping. So the ravin is no longer an option i guess. I guess now I'm goin to look into the 50 series delta force. Would this muffler give my truck a nice little rumble like the ravin would?

BTW.... does anyone know the part number for this muffler. My truck is dual in/single out so I'm having truoble finding a muffler. If they dont carry the delta flow... do u guys reccomend the 50 series SUV?

50 series suv muffler is fine as well as the delta.

I had a shop build me an exhaust it consisted of single 2.5 pipe and a mediem lengh glass pack type muffler, sounds like a desert race truck. it is not really loud untill you give it the nutz. next im putting a flowmaster american thunder muffler on it.
