really dumb tire question

ok long version short, this is going to be a 98 Durango question.
The tires Christian has on his Duragno are P235/75R15 108S he wants to put on 31x10.50R15/C C can he do that with the same rims? Or do you need new rims?

A 235/75/15 is about 28.8"x9.25".

He's going to a 31"x10.5".

So the tire is 2.2" taller overall, with an additional width of about 1.25". When you figure that 1.25" is only .625" more per "side"... its not a big difference.
 


















Yeah. Its safe to run an 11.5" tire on the stock 7" wide wheels. Some people choose to run a 12.5" tire on the stock wheel.
