Today I used seafoam on my '00 X 5.0 as well. I used nearly a can in the brake booster line. I just stuck the line in the can and ran the motor up to 2000RPM. The vacume of the line sucked the fluid quickly out of the can.

Lots of smoke. I put the rest of the can (about 1/3) into my gas tank. I'll keep an eye out for any noticeable differences.

I went to AutoZone and they actually had an end cap display of the Seafoam and Deep Creep. I'll give the TB a shot with the Deep Creep to see if that does anything.

I might have to try that stuuf in my X.

I would, it really made a noticable difference in power. It took a day for it to kick in but the difference was there.

My gas mileage seems to have gotten worse though, however I'm sure that the "winter blend" gas, warm-up times, and me smashing the throttle with my new found power doesn't help :D

Thread is a little old but I got some SeaFoam Deep Creep for my X and thought this 5.0 thread seemed appropriate. This is what I did:

I brought the truck to operating temp and shut it off. I removed the intake tupe at the TB and sprayed the crap out of it while manipulating the butterfly.

I then let is soak for a few then started up the engine. It smoked a little but not much. I sprayed the DC into the brake booster line and got lots of smoke. After about 2/3's of a can went in I quickly shut it off and waited for 10 minutes. I took for a spirited drive. I think my neighbors thought I broke my truck. It was kind of funny. Smoked for a good 2 miles then it started to subside.

I dont know if I gained anything. Idles the same (good as always) and power is the same as far as I can tell. MPG will be calculated later. I just dont think my truck realy needed this treatment. Oh well, it didnt hurt.

Interesting. I wonder if the DC in the TB helped at all? I did not get results until the next day and it really seems to have cleaned things up. I would also recommend dumping some in the tank (as the Seafoam tech-line told me). They actually said that putting it through the tank is the only way you have to and it will get the same effect as the TB or BB line. Personally I think everyone around here likes to see smoke because it looks like something is actually happening...oh, and it looks cool too :)
