Rear Air leveling control shocks

Hi Guys purchased my 99 EB a few days ago, just discovered it has the rear air leveling shocks. I have hopes of doing a TT and shackles/add a leaf in the rear in the future. If I decide to ditch the rear air leveling control, don't want to deal with potential problems, can I use Bilestein/ Pro comp shocks in place of the rear air shocks? If i remove the compressor will it throw any codes? I have done some reading on it, found the conversion "kits", but I want to utilize an off road shock instead of the "kit" shocks.

Yes you can remove it all and use what ever shocks you want.

Perfect that's what I was hoping to hear. Do you have an idea where the compressor is located? When I get back to school in carbondale I will really rip into it. Right now Chicago is -13 and under 2 feet of snow.
