hi
you push the collar inwards towards the shocker and pull the pipe out .cheers chris

can you tell me where you got them from and how much?

I have an slight leak from sonewhere in the system which I need to sort.

I know there is a pump to pump them up but is there a release valve to let them down?

cheers

hi jim
there are two valves on top of the chassis cross rail the pump is up near the spare wheel carier hard to get to if your gas tank is underneath. cheers chris

Hey bubbas
We'll be expecting a nice "how to" thread with pictures once you have done them. Are they monroe or motorcraft?

Thanks for the replies,i got them from explorer parts uk on ebay and they were £150 a pair.there is no name on them only a number HOH27R 1E made in the usa.

You won't need one! Must be the simplest job ever. I reckon 5 mins per side.

I only wish all jobs were as simple.

Well today had the good weather and the time to change the rear shocks, went well apart from the bottom bolt on one side had wielded its self to the steel sleeve in the rubber and had to cut it off.And the air pipes would not come out,had to cut them but i removed some of the outer black pipe and the inner white pipe just pushed into the shock. All works ok so in a good mood lol.

the air pipes would not come out

Did you push the collar in as Chris mentioned? The pipes will go straight in but you need to push the collar in to release them (otherwise they would just blow out!)

Glad it's all done anyway!

Well done with that mate....

You must be pleased :)

I tried every thing to get the pipes out but with so much rust it was hard to tell what was metal or plastic. The pipes went in without pushing in the collar i have given them a good tug and they didnt move, the pumps been on and everthing seems ok.I did notice a black box under the the rear which i had to take off to gain access i remember some one else on here mention it,when i looked at it it has a solinoid but no plug attatched and no sign of a plug or wireing any where that looks like it should go to it.
