See the thing is the section is like 3-4" deep and the other warning lights and about 1/2''-1'' deep in the section, and that means that the socket wouldnt be right at the bottom of the section so i would have to see it and the bulbs are short so it cant be. If i take out the ash tray and look inside to the left of the whole i should see the abs computer?

So you have pulled the instrument cluster off and there is no light housing? If not I'm betting that the housing was somehow pulled out and is behind the instrument cluster. There was no option for not having RABS in 91. If you have a 91 then you have the RABS, no question.

A side note on water and ice even my 93 and 94 with 4 wheel ABS will slide, well now that I think about it the brakes do oscilate.

I have just went through and completely disconnected the RABS on my 91. I even removed the hydraulic proportioning valve going to the rear. Its my trail rig so I don't have a problem with locking up the rear.

jar2187,
Yes, I think it should be the gold colored thing visible there on the left when you pull out the ash tray. That's the whole ash tray assembly I'm talking about.

AlaskanJack,
Did you pull out the RABS computer when you disconnected it? If so did you have to pull out the entire dash to get to it? I wanted to try swapping the ABS computer with another I've got to see if that fixes my problem but I'm not really in the mood to pull the entire dash apart.

No I haven't disconnected the RABS computer. It is doesn't do anything to the brakes now anyway. I basically have only brake lines running to the rear now and the RABS sensor on the diff is disconnected.

I tried to take the instrument cluster out but there wasnt enough slack in the speedo wires, so i looked on autozone.com in the repair guide and it said to disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmittion. where is this located? what does it look like? does anyone have a picture maybe

I got under the truck to see if i could find the rear abs sensor. But couldnt find it on top of the bell housing all there is, is a connector that connects the two rear brake lines and the line coming from the front, is this it?

No, just in front of that connection above the driveshaft and on the pumpkin is that RABS sensor. there are two wires connected to it. The other area to check is in the driver side frame behind the wheel well there is a hydraulic proportioning valve. If you can crank your wheels to the right get out and look in the wheel well for a bolt in the frame. Thsi is the bolt that holds the proportioning valve to the frame. It should be between the axle and the edge of the wheel well. I don't believe that there are any other bolts in the frame there.
