I have a leaking drivers side rear axle seal. I plan on replacing both left and right seals and bearings. Im having a hard time finding the right part numbers for the seals and bearings. All i seem to come up with is stuff for the front axle not the rear.
I don't have an answer to your question. I can tell you to be prepared to possibly have to replace the drive axle along with the bearings and seals. I had to do this on an 89 Ranger because the bearings had worn a significant grove in the axle. Ford runs the bearing rollers directly on the axle instead of a race. I am guessing they still have the same design in 2002.
I am not sure where you are looking but I had no problem finding bearings and seals for the rear axle at RockAuto.com and Tasca Ford. I don't have the part numbers but they are not hard to find. At RockAuto they are listed under "drivetrain" and at Tasca the are listed under "universals and rear axle".
yea actually rockauto was the only one that i could find them. i was just a little hesitant in case something was the wrong size etc, it would be a PIA to get the right one.
What i ended up doing was using a ford parts diagram and getting them at my local store with the diagram
