Ok, a guy I have been tlkain to for a while now (Chad Nixdorf, member at this site) about what I am gonna do to my explorer and stuff like that. Well, I have a 3" body lift wating to be put on, he may help me out with it, and I may get a 2" suspension lift to clear some 33" tires. I was only going to do the 3" body and get 31" so the stock gearing (3.27 wouldn't be that bad as compared to the 33". So he told me that I should maybe consider swapping an axle with a 3.73 or possibly a 4.10 gears and possibly with an LSD. I was looking for some online at http://www.car-parts.com (they have a big database of junkyards around the country and you type in what you are looking for and they show all the matches. Well, I found some 95 + axles for pretty cheap and an early model rear axle for really cheap w/ a warranty. The price for the 95+ axle is something like $300-400 (3.73 locking, some are LSD and some are 4.10 gearing). And the early model axle was around $200 or so w/ 3.73 LS. I would rather go with the 95+ axle because it has discs and I could also gain that form the swap. But what about brake lines and all?? Thats the only thing I am wondering about. I read the write up on here, but am still confused about how hard it would be to do. Could someone tell me what all would have to be done and how hard it would be to do? (brake lines)
Chad has done some major stuff to his truck and I think he would probably know what to do, so I don't think we would have a problem with it, but I still want to know how hard and all the stuff I asked before. Thanks
