Hi, I'm from ROMSEY in Australia. I own a 1996 Explorer XLT. Currently replacing parking brake shoes, but having difficulty fitting the new shoes - they dont want to line up with the centre of the hub (currently sitting about 1/2 an inch above centre and refuse to move down)! Any ideas or pictures? Thanks and all the best,
Eric;

It's a little tricky, but you can do it. Clean the adjusters, and put anti-seize on them. Do one shoe at a time. Install the retaining pins and clips on the first shoe. Be sure the top actuator lever is rust free and lubed up. Install your top springs, then do the last shoe. Those springs can be a real ***** to install sometime. Be sure to back off the adjusters before installing the rotor. Then with the rotor on, tighten the adjusters through the slot on the backing plate until they make contact with rotor, and then back them off a bit so the won't rub. Drive for a while, and then re-check the adjusters to be sure they are set up properly.

Oh...and watch out for those Roos!
