rear bumper brackets

did anyone ever make a bunch of rear bumper mounts for body lift kits? or does anyone have the link for the plans? i remember i found it one time, but i spent a long time searching for it today, and couldn't find it. if anyone has one (or can make one) i will definately pay for it. thanks! todd.

I have the drawings I downloaded. I can email them to you. I have a better idea for the rear brackets but it involves finding another set of rear bumper brackets to use as parts.

You may get some flak for double posting.

Email sent (but w/o drawings attached - I didn't know how to attach them!).

As for fabrication, it's going to require some 1/4" steel plate and someone who can weld. Or, if you use the extra set of brackets, some cutting and welding. It's simple, don't be intimidated.

so is that not the diagram for the rear? is it the front? it looks like the bracket that came with the kit for the front, but i don't know what the rear is supposed to look like. thanks, todd.

thank you then, i appreciate it. btw, have you had any experience with doing BL, i'm looking at the directions that came with my PA kit, and they seem pretty vague, just wondering if it really is as hard as it seems by looking at the directions.

Well as a matter of fact I do, me and my cousin put on my body lift in his front drive way, here goes: I initially took out all my interior out before arriving at his house (seats/carpet) and the bolts in the frame were exposed for easy access. First we used a drill and backed the bolts out holding the frame to the under part (whatever the hell the politically correct term is for the underhalf of the x) some of them were a PITA to loosen up and get out. Then we (NOT RECOMMENDED) used a jack stand with some wood on top of it (for extra lift) and lifted my x underneath the factory sidesteps one side at a time to put the 3" blocks in. Then we tightened the new bolts in to the 3" lift blocks and presto, not quite halfway home yet Next we put the new radiator lift brackets in which were also a PITA, once completed with this task we got more beer and headed for the steering extension - WARNING - my steering extension that came with my kit same as yours needed modification on my x, mabey not yours but this is fair warning, the hollow part had to be drilled farther down in one of the grooves then what it came, we figured this out after beating the extension on then figuring something wasnt right and beating it back off to figure it out, well ****, this dont fit right. We then drilled farther down on one of the grooves in the steering extension so it would fit correctly. Last but not least the bumper brackets, hell on earth is all I will say here, this was worse than a chica that doesnt want too: musste viel hinunterschlucken. You get the point, Gd Lck let me know if you have any more q's.
