I backed up into a '96 Geo Prizm on Friday (ooopps, didn't see it in the mirrors ), hit it right between the fender and the door and kinda' messed up my rear bumper. See pics below. Don't ask about the Geo...:dead:

MONMIX, care to give a ballpark estimate for the repairs? Only the plastic seems to be ripped, I don't think the metal bumper is pushed in (but then again I might be wrong...) THANKS a billion!

I'd call some salvage yards to see if they have a matching black Ex with front only damage, and consider replacing the cover yourself.

I really just do the labor, I cant tell you much about cost.
I have not done a lot of third gens but I know they are not too difficult. Looking into a junk yard replacement is a great idea if you can get a junk yard bumper in decent shape.

Thank you both! That's probably what I'm goingo to do.

You'll probably have luck at a salvage yard. Black is a pretty common color. Prices at salvage yards can vary quite a bit, so I'd call all the ones in a reasonable driving distance.

only problem i see doing a junkyard fix, is availability... bumpers are cheap, and black is common, but his looks like a newer explorer if my eyes aren't deceiving me

It's a 2004, as it says in my profile.

What Mbrooks said, I need to find a totaled 2004 XLT, with the rear intact...

I'm not keeping my hopes too high...

Would you recommend a good website to buy a new bumper cover?

Thanks,
DMS

There are several bumpers on ebay, but they would all need painted.
