Hi I hope I'm posting in the right forum.

Recently Ford repair said the radiator in our 07 Explorer had a very small leak that might be developing. They recommended we could try this "Stop Leak" stuff which I am going to put in. But they said eventually we would need a new radiator.

Can anyone give an ESTIMATE or rough idea of price range or cost for having a repair place install a new radiator?? Ford said it could cost a thousand dollars but....

We don't currently have a favored mechanic, I have no clue about these sort of things, and I'm sick of being fleeced for inflated costs on repairs. I don't have anyone who can "just go to Auto Zone buy one and put it in yourself" kind of thing, either. I live in central New Jersey if anyone is in this part of the country to be more accurate on estimates (in other words it might be a whole different cost in California or something, but either way any suggested estimates are appreciated).

Thanks very much!!

New aftermarket Radiator ranges from $125 to $300, Ford OEM around $500. Most shops should be able to install it for around $100 to $150. Fluids might be extra.

Just had it done on 2007 EB. Bought an aftermarket and the transmission line connectors on the new radiator had been redesigned. Had to have it towed in to have a new radiator installed. Cost was $587 total. I still am smelling anti-freeze and can't find the leak. I have read stories of people having multiple radiators put in the 2006/2007 due to crappy radiator design. I have been happy with my EB, up until this. I wish you luck.
