I went with the ford one, by being careful you can mount it very close to the edge which is what I did. The one pictured in the link looks like your color options are grey and grey only. My ford one came in Jet black, same at my black trim. I bought mine off ebay, came in a ford box for I believe 47.00 including shipping. Easy to install it has guides on the back which lines up with your hatch.

From the pictures online, it looks like it is the same color as the plastic trim on the bumper below it.

Yeah, it's pretty much a perfect match. I was going to make this comment also. Only reason it looks gray is the lighting.

Did anybody try this one. it seems it is better than than the ford one as it covers more

Any thoughts?

I bought this on Amazon from BMC. It is a good product. Installation was a snap! No problem with BMC service. The box was marked Sportwing. I highly recommend the bumper cover. I have dealt with Sportwing directly in the past. Great products. The Ford accessory is almost useless. I had it on my 08 Edge. It seems to be a thin vinyl decal.

Welcome to the Forum zaidi975:wavey: Nice to have another Ontario Ex owner on board.
I much prefer the one you found to the OEM cover I had installed. Where were you when we needed you? :)
Happy motoring.

Agree, as I also purchased the BMC Extreme Customs bumper protector directly from their site and absolutely love it! Packaged well and arrived promptly.

Installed - BMC Bumper Cover

Just recieved and installed my BMC Customs Bumper Cover. Ordered it direct from BMC as their shipping cost was cheaper than ebay or Amazon. Ordered it Thursday, recieved it tuesday. (Monday was a Holiday)

Looks pretty good. I expected it to be some type of rubber, but it is actually some type of plastic composite thats pretty thick. Did notice on the edge of the lip that overhangs the bumper that there was a ridge of material that was not trimmed properly during manufacturing. One side stuck out farther than the other as it went along the length of the cover. I simply trimmed it closer with a box knife, then used some sandpaper to finish it off and smooth it out ans the finished with a final wet sand. Also, part of the 3M sticky tape overhung the edge from underneath. Simply trimmed this back also.

Installation took about 5 minutes. I counted the ribs to center, marked it with blue tape. Then placed it on the bumper, lined up the center line blue tape with the rear door latch as a center guide(rear door was open). Marked the edges with blue tape to ensure it would be centered. Then I cleaned the bumper with the alcohol wipe they provided, removed the plastic on the 3M tape and carefully aligned it with my blue tape and stuck it down. The 3M tape is super sticky and grabs quick and hard, so be carfeul you get the alignment correct first time. Would be a ***** to try and pull off to re-do.

I felt I needed this accessory because the kids are always loading and unloading baseball bags full of gear into the back and are not always carefull in doing so.

Cnsheets, is tha a gel overlay on the ford logo, oh nice bumper cover!

Love that bumper cover, I wish I had waited instead of buying the OEM one.

The bumper lip protection is key.

That looks really good. I had no idea that one existed and I had the OEM ordered and is being installed this morning.

Another item on my list was the Ventvisors. Anyone else have those? I prefer the ones that go inside the door instead of taped to the outside

Looking good. This confirms my decision to order the BMC. A little disappointed to hear about the extra plastic you had to trim off, but since this may be the only option with the lip.....

I needed and wanted the overhang lip to protect the edge. The extra material was not too big of a problem as it trimmed off rather easily with a sharp blade, and like I said, I did final cleanup of it with sand paper. Then finished it with a wet sand because the material actually turns white/grey when sanded. The wet sand smoothed it out more and returned it to black color.

Yes, its a gel overlay from DMB Graphics that was posted here in one of the threads. I wrote some stuff up on those also when I received and installed them. Look for that thread for pictures also.

So much nicer than the OEM one which is sitting in my garage in the box still. Will order that one asap.

Thanks for posting. Looks like that is the bumper protector to get.

I didn't install mine. I told them to hold off. I will check both to see the difference and see which I like better.

That's a great looking bumper cover, thanks for posting!

Anyone else have this and did you also have to do the slight trimming? Doesn't seem to be a big deal as the OP posted instructions, but I'm wondering if it was just a quirky batch or just a common thing.
