Which buttons do I press on the head unit in order to disable the rear stereo controls?

Rear Seat Radio Control Defeat

Push memory buttons 3 and 5 simultaneously. You should see the little headphone icon in the radio display toggle on and off as you activate/deactivate Rear Seat Audio Controls.

I do.
On trips when we have 4 people in the explorer it allows the front 2 people to listen to something and the rear 2 people to listen to something different.

Does it cut off rear speakers when you plug in a headphone? Just curious...

there is a button by the headphone jacks that toggles the rear speakers on and off.
