I just want ot swap my rear brake and make it disk for my 1992 explorer. Every place make only partial "How to " or show only 2 pictures. They talk aboutan adpater they dont give the size they dont tell where it goes etc. So if anyone have done this job can you tell and post exactly how to do it. Thank you

No but thank you ill read it. But im french canadian so it take me more pictures to understand hehehe Where can i get the adapter plate someguys are talking about?

On the Explorer, there are no 'adapter plates' required.

All you need is the 'backing plate' from a 95-01 Rear Axle. It houses the parking brake shoes (drum), and hardware, as well as the mounting location for the disc brake caliper.

I have done this swap on my White Explorer, and it is a total bolt on deal...

Ok thank you. Im gonna try to find the adapter i was talking about. a guy drawed it somewhere. I will be looking for the swap this summer...thank you.

isn't it also possible to go to a junkyard and find a newer gen explorer and jus swap rears... grnted you have to find on with the same rear gears but it mihgt be cheap depending ? just a thought?

i would prefer to swap only the brakes because i dont have a place to do a big job like rear diff swapping.
