Rear dome light assembly

Just a quick question: Is the rear interior dome light assembly the same part across all 1st and 2nd generation Explorers? For example, would one from a 1996 or even a 1991 work in a 2000 or 2001?

Yes, they will work. I know for certain that the assembly and plug are the same between my old 92 and my 99.
