rear door speakers

has anyone installed a set of 6x9 speakers in the rear door of a 1994 explorer?how hard was it?is it worth the time?i have a really nice set to match the componets i put up front.was hoping to be able to use them.

they might fit i have made oversize speakers fit before, but it will be a ton of work. first off you will have to cut metal for the length and possibly height. then you will have to worry about the depth of the speaker, (6x9's r usually deeper than most other speakers

they can be made to fit since you're replacing a stock 6X8...its only an inch. I haven't done it, but i've seen it done.

technically all a stock size 6x8 is is a slighlty oversized 5x7" speaker, so there mught be a little bit more work than you think.
