i have seen where people have had there rear ends go before 100k. now my moms started to go at about 90k miles. ford does not say to change it before 100k miles. now i really dont feel like having to fix this later on because it went before 100k. so i have 84,090 miles on my truck right now and i was planing on having the rear end fluid chaged. would this be a good idea so i dont have to worry as much about it down the line?

thanks

yep ^^ what he said

just remove the cover.

i saw on ebay a replacement diff cover that had a drain and fill plug on it. maybe a worthwhile investment

Rear ends dying on stock Explorers who don't off-road is really rare. If you want to change the fluid, go for it, but I don't think your 8.8 is in any danger of crapping out.

my moms has never been off-roaded. the others that i have seen have not really off-roaded theres.

anyway im pretty sure im goin to change it. if for nothing else just the peice of mind i geuss..lol
