While doing a rear wheel bearing replacement, the driver's side half axle separated at the boot nearest the differential.
Can this be reinserted back in place and new clamp applied?
What do I need to do?
Thanks!

Inspect the boot and the components that were exposed. There can't be any contamination with outside debris. Clean and regressed if necessary, get a new cv boot clamp from the parts store and put back together. Large zip tie could work I suppose.

The same thing happened to me a little while back went changing the rear struts. If you didn't lose any needle pin bearings, you should be able to slide them back in place with ease and then reinstall the clamp. The part store was close when I worked on my truck so I used the same one. If one or more of the three bearings lots their needle pin bearings, get ready to get your hands dirty!
