Rear Hatchdoor

I did a search here first but didn't find what I was looking for. I am wondering if there is a way (might be the most obvious thing but I haven't figured it out) to open the top part of the rear hatch without using the remote. Is there a button in the truck to release it or do I have to use the remote to pop the window portion open? The bottom will open if the locks are up, but the upper so far to me seems to only open when I use the remote and have not seen a release button anywhere in the inside. Thanks in advance.

Move your hand to the right from the latch release for the bottom portion. You should feel a button on the "box" just before the end of that area. Push up to release. At least, that's the way it works on my '04.

On my '02, the button is just to the right of the license plate light. Just run your fingers under the ridge above the license plate until you feel a bump and push up on it.

my 2002 has a small button above and to the right of the rear license plate under that lip overhang, unlock with unlock button in car or key fob then push button by license plate
